Technical Artist

Jackson Dawson Communications

  • One of the 4 first members of the team that later became known as Texel Logic at Jackson Dawson.
Jackson Dawson was at the time a traditional automotive marketing company, that created dealership marketing as well as directly working for various Ford brands.

  • I worked directly with the Lead and Senior artists on the 3d team to create the 3d pipeline, and periodically refine it over time for improvements, and different visual quality packages.

  • Responsible for creation of shaders and finding visual enhancements to render build and price Unity experiences to look as close to real as possible.
Optimized shaders for multiple platforms, from Windows to mobile.

  • Consistently on the leading edge of new features from Unity, and trying out plugins, packages, to speed up development workflows as well as enhancing graphic quality.
Additionally I was always on the look out for new things that could be used to tell a great automotive story or educate potential new car owners of technology in the vehicle.

  • Used external software and built in Unity systems to check the project for performance, as well as look over the many aspects of the project for visual imperfections.

  • I created visual effects for every project that Texel Logic worked on. Most of the time, these effects were limited to wind gusts, or radar beams based on art direction, but I strove to create more dynamic and impressive effects as Unity Particle engine became more advanced.

  • In many projects we recieved the cad models, with every trim and tier for the vehicle. It was my responsibility to match the different automotive parts and configurations to be used in the different scenes. I matched these against a buyers guide we were issued with the CAD data.

  • Ford Truth About Trucks 2020

Truth About Trucks was a display that would educate potential new F-150 owners of the new technology and improvements that are in the new trucks. The display included frame cross sections, pistons, and material samples used in the manufacturing of the truck frames. This demonstration was all created in digital within our team using Unity 3D.

  • This was a midyear update to the Truth About Trucks demo, that included the Ford F250 models.

  • Lincoln Custom Fit 2021

    Lincoln Experience wer
e the user could build and price a new Lincoln, as well as see all the different technologies that existed in each model. The demonstrator was in Lincoln Experience Stores in California.
